The Storm
The Storm by CuteCircuit transports audiences into a thunderstorm in the Hebrides through large-scale cinematic imagery, symphonic music and wearable haptics. An entire day unfolds in ten minutes, following the storm as it builds, recedes and returns across the islands’ hills, shores and fields, from dawn to sunset.
Moving between slow motion and time-lapse, the film draws participants into the changing weather and light. Created from imagery of the Hebrides through thousands of AI-generated clips, selected and composed into a continuous journey, it is designed for the cinema, where the scale of the screen brings the power of the elements into the room.
Wearing SoundShirts, participants feel rain and thunder across their bodies, with tactile sensations layered over the symphony and synchronised with the film. Garment, screen and sound are composed as one artwork, making the forces of nature and the emotion of music physically tangible.
Immersive sensory artwork. Duration: 10 minutes.
Designed by Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz, 2026. Premiered at Tate Modern, September 2026.

National Museum of Scotland
From design classics to cutting-edge catwalk creations, Beyond the Little Black Dress deconstructs this iconic garment and examines the radical power of the colour black in fashion.
In 1926 Coco Chanel designed a simple, short black dress. Considered radically modern, it disregarded convention in its design and shade and was hailed by US Vogue as “the frock that all the world will wear.” The little black dress became a wardrobe staple and a blank canvas for future generations to reflect broader political and cultural shifts, challenge social norms around race, gender and sexuality and reflect evolving ideals of beauty and identity.
Discover how the nuances of the colour black have made the little black dress a contradictory garment, from the well-mannered cocktail attire of the early 20th century to the leather and latex worn by members of punk and fetish subcultures. The exhibition features CuteCircuit’s Nieves Dress and visitors can change the colour of its fabric via the Q App.

MSI Chicago /
Twirkle installation
The Twirkle T-shirt features in the new wearable technology exhibit “Wired to Wear” at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. The exhibit also features the HugShirt and SoundShirt. This special edition of the Twirkle T-shirt features a laser distance sensor that senses the distance of the museum visitors from the installation.
The sensor changes the colour of the micro-LED decoration based on the distance, with sparkling white lights activating when a visitor is very close, and glowing in green and aqua when the visitor is approaching, through the whole rainbow of colours when walking by. The 20 T-shirts in the installation create a reactive surface that invites the visitors to play.
