CuteCircuit brought SoundShirt to the Supercopa de España in Jeddah, working with Sela and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport to make the atmosphere of live football accessible through touch.
The Spanish Super Cup took place at King Abdullah Sports City from 8 to 12 January 2025. Bespoke SoundShirts brought a tactile dimension to the tournament for deaf and hard of hearing supporters.
Feeling the match together
The roar of a stadium is part of what makes a football match a shared experience. SoundShirt translates live sound into haptic sensations across the garment, allowing supporters to feel the changing atmosphere as the action unfolds.
Designed by Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz, SoundShirt places that experience within clothing that can be worn in the stands. The focus is on participating in the same moment as the people around you.
From Riyadh to Jeddah
The Spanish tournament followed SoundShirt’s appearance at the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh earlier in January. Together, these collaborations brought wearable haptics to two international football tournaments in Saudi Arabia.
Thank you to Sela, the Ministry of Sport and the teams who helped bring the experience to supporters.
