CuteCircuit’s SoundShirt was part of the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh, in collaboration with Sela and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport.

Held from 2 to 6 January 2025, the tournament brought Italian football to Saudi Arabia. Bespoke SoundShirts enabled deaf and hard of hearing supporters to experience the stadium’s sound through touch.

The atmosphere, felt on the body

Following a match means sharing its anticipation, changes of pace and celebrations. SoundShirt translates live sound into tactile sensations, connecting the wearer to the atmosphere around them in real time.

Designed by Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz, the garment brings wearable haptics into the stands, so that the sound of the crowd becomes part of the experience for supporters who cannot hear it.

Wearable technology for shared experiences

The Riyadh collaboration continued CuteCircuit’s work with Sela to bring SoundShirt to live football. Later that month, the technology also featured at the Supercopa de España in Jeddah.

Thank you to Sela, the Ministry of Sport and everyone involved in bringing this experience to supporters.
